بسلطانك الأعلى بما لك من علا

ومجد وشأن يا علي ورفعة

By Your supreme sovereignty, by the loftiness that is Yours,

With your supreme authority, with all you possess

and glory and eminence, O Most High, and exaltation;

Of glory, dignity O Ali, and loftiness

بسلطانك الأعلى على كل شامخ

بسلطانك الأعلى على كل شامخ

بحجتك العليا على كل حجة

بحجتك العليا على كل حجة

by Your supreme sovereignty over all that towers high,

With your supreme authority over all the haughty

by Your proof, supreme above every proof;

With your supreme argument over all argument

بسلطانك الأعلى على كل غالب

بسلطانك الأعلى على كل غالب

وما قدر ذي غلب بأعلى فطرة

وما قدر ذي غلب بأعلى فطرة

by Your supreme sovereignty over every conqueror,

With your supreme authority over all conquerors

and no conqueror’s might is loftier by nature;

And none endowed with might holds higher nature

بسلطانك الأعلى بقدر جلاله

بسلطانك الأعلى بقدر جلاله

وأخذته بالعدل أعظم أخذة

وأخذته بالعدل أعظم أخذة

by Your supreme sovereignty, by the measure of its majesty,

With your supreme authority of glorious might

and its just chastisement, the mightiest chastisement;

You took with justice, the greatest taking

بسلطانك الأعلى الجليل علوه

بسلطانك الأعلى الجليل علوه

عن الكم والتكييف والمتوية

عن الكم والتكييف والمتوية

by Your supreme sovereignty, sublime in its transcendence

With your supreme, exalted authority

beyond quantity, modality, and temporality;

Beyond limit, definition, and estimation

بسلطانك الأعلى المنيع لذاته

بسلطانك الأعلى المنيع لذاته

بتصريفه الآيات تصريف قدرة

بتصريفه الآيات تصريف قدرة

by Your supreme sovereignty, inviolable in its very essence,

With your supreme authority, impregnable in itself

by its ordering of the signs—an exercise of power;

Directing verses by the directing of ordainment

بسلطانك الأعلى المجيد الذي عنت

بسلطانك الأعلى المجيد الذي عنت

لعزته الأكوان اذعان هيبة

لعزته الأكوان اذعان هيبة

by Your supreme, glorious sovereignty, before which bowed

With your supreme, glorious authority by which

the worlds, submitting to its might in awe;

The cosmos bow in awe of its might

بسلطانك الأعلى الغني بنفسه

بسلطانك الأعلى الغني بنفسه

لتدبير أمر الملك عن ذي معونة

لتدبير أمر الملك عن ذي معونة

by Your supreme sovereignty, sufficient unto itself

With your supreme, self-sufficient authority

in governing the realm, needing no helper;

To govern the realm without need of aid

بسلطانك الأعلى بنافذ حكمه

بسلطانك الأعلى بنافذ حكمه

يكنه التعالي بالصفات الجليلة

يكنه التعالي بالصفات الجليلة

by Your supreme sovereignty, by its unfailing decree,

With your supreme authority, effective decree

whose transcendence is fathomed through majestic attributes;

Veiled in transcendence with the noble attributes

أقم لي حظوظي في العلى واحلني

أقم لي حظوظي في العلى واحلني

بمقعد صدق من معالي الحقيقة

بمقعد صدق من معالي الحقيقة

establish my allotted shares in the heights, and settle me

Set my fortunes on high, and make me dwell

in a seat of truth among the heights of reality;

In the abode of truth, of the highest realities

وهب لي علواً لا يداحضه من علا

وهب لي علواً لا يداحضه من علا

على كل ضد الدين والدنيوية

على كل ضد الدين والدنيوية

and grant me an eminence no exalted one can challenge,

Grant me an exaltation no contrary can diminish

above every foe in faith and worldly affairs.

Over all enemies of religion and worldliness
