And O You to whom veneration belongs in Your majesty,

For an endless duration, O Great One.

And You whose greatness intellects fail to describe,

There is thus no grasping the essence of reality.

And You whose greatness is the greatness of divine power,

And of eminence, governance, dominion, and might.

And You whose greatness lies in perfection intrinsic to Your essence,

So Your attributes rest on no cause.

And You whose greatness is not the bulk of Your creation's bodies,

You are exalted beyond likeness in any respect.

So no creature has a share in His majesty,

And the power of description has no share but helplessness.

And there are no dimensions there, nor any substance,

That would afflict the essence of the Real with the defect of likeness.

    He donned the robe of majesty, as is His right;

He donned it: no peer, nor any share in partnership.

My God, my station is helplessness, poverty, and annihilation.

And my greatness is my submission, O Great One, and my lowliness.

So how deserving is the claim of one whose state is such,

Of rejection and the claimant's refutation, without proof!

So increase my portions from You in every pursuit,

And my resolve and aspiration in all that pleases You.
