ويا هادياً من شاءه من عباده

ويا هادياً من شاءه من عباده

لعرفانه بالذات لا بوسيطة

And O You who guide whomever You choose among Your servants

O Guide of those servants You willed

to know You through Your very essence, not through an intermediary;

To know You through essence, not intermediary

ويا هادياً من شاءه من عباده

ويا هادياً من شاءه من عباده

إلى ذاته سبحنه بالخليقة

إلى ذاته سبحنه بالخليقة

And O You who guide whomever You choose among Your servants

O Guide of those servants You willed

to Your essence—glory be to You—through creation;

To Your essence, Glorified are You, through creation

ويا هادي الأحياء لطفاً ومنة

ويا هادي الأحياء لطفاً ومنة

إلى جلبها نفعاً ودفع مضرة

إلى جلبها نفعاً ودفع مضرة

And O Guide of living beings, in kindness and grace,

O Guide of the living, kindness and blessing

to their gaining benefit and warding off harm;

To attract benefit and avert harm

ويا هادياً بالوحي للخلق حجة

ويا هادياً بالوحي للخلق حجة

لئلا يكون الأخذ إلا بحجة

لئلا يكون الأخذ إلا بحجة

And O You who guide creation through revelation as a proof,

O Guide through revelation an argument for people

so that punishment comes only with proof;

Lest grasping be without argument

ويا من هدى النجدين كل مكلف

ويا من هدى النجدين كل مكلف

تمام الهدى فضلاً بنصب الأدلة

تمام الهدى فضلاً بنصب الأدلة

And O You who have shown every accountable person the two paths,

O You who guided obligated beings, both mankind and jinn

with complete guidance, by graciously setting forth the proofs;

Perfect guidance, grace in laying the proofs

ويا هادي الألباب من حيث أنه

ويا هادي الألباب من حيث أنه

تكرم هاديها بخلق الهداية

تكرم هاديها بخلق الهداية

And O Guide of minds, in that

O Guide of intellects in that You honored

their Guide acted graciously by creating guidance;

Their guide by creating guidance

ويا من هدى للقرب عارفه ومن

ويا من هدى للقرب عارفه ومن

هدى لنصوح التوب أهل الخطيئة

هدى لنصوح التوب أهل الخطيئة

And O You who have guided the one who knows You to nearness, and who

O You who guided the knower to nearness and who

have guided sinners to sincere repentance;

Guided the sincerely repentant to moral integrity

ويا من هدى قلب المريد بصدقه

ويا من هدى قلب المريد بصدقه

مع الحق حتى لات أحقر لفتة

مع الحق حتى لات أحقر لفتة

And O You who have guided the seeker's heart through his sincerity

O You who guided the heart of the devotee in his sincerity

toward the Truth, until not even the slightest turning aside remains;

To the Real, so the subtlest hint shines

ويا هادياً من حيث قدم أهله

ويا هادياً من حيث قدم أهله

إلى الرتب العلياء والسابقية

إلى الرتب العلياء والسابقية

And O You who guide by advancing Your people

O Guide in that You brought Your people

to the loftiest ranks and precedence;

To the highest stations and precedence

هداك الهدى يا هادي الرشد فاهدني

هداك الهدى يا هادي الرشد فاهدني

إلى موجب الرضوان من كل قربة

إلى موجب الرضوان من كل قربة

Your guidance is true guidance, O Guide to right conduct; so guide me

May Your guidance guide me, O Guide of rectitude, so guide me

to whatever wins Your good pleasure among all acts of devotion;

To what obligates good pleasure through every act of nearness

وهب لي حظاً من هدى يهتدى به

وهب لي حظاً من هدى يهتدى به

إليك ويهدي الخلق لي بالمودة

إليك ويهدي الخلق لي بالمودة

And grant me a share of guidance by which one is led

Grant me a share of the guidance whereby

to You, and which leads creation to me with affection.

To You one is guided and guides people in affection
