ويا متعالي الذات في جبروته

عن النقص والآفات والأشرية

And O You, transcendent in essence in Your omnipotence,

above deficiency, afflictions, and wickedness.

ويا متعالي الذات حيث وجوبه

وتنزيهه عن مطلق الفطرية

And O You, transcendent in essence in Your necessary existence,

and in Your freedom from every natural constitution.

ويا متعالي الذات حيث علوه

على كل شيء باقتدار ورفعة

And O You, transcendent in essence in Your exaltation

above all things, in power and loftiness.

ويا متعالي الذات للذات نفسه

فأين اضافاتي ونعتي ومدحتي

And O You, exalted in essence by Your very essence—

where, then, are my ascriptions, my description, and my praise?

ويا متعالي الوصف عن درك واصف

كما ينبغي للوحدة الصفتية

And O You, whose description transcends a describer's grasp,

as befits the unity of attributes.

ويا متعال عن علو معلل

عن الوضع والتركيب والجهتية

And O You, beyond all elevation dependent on a cause,

beyond position, composition, and directionality.

علوك معلوم كما أنت أهله

علو جلال وامتلاك وقدرة

Your exaltation is known, as befits You:

an exaltation of majesty, dominion, and power.

فأعل علوي عن تملك فطرة

وهمي عن استصحاب كل دنية

So lift my ascent above the dominion of innate nature,

and my aspiration above companionship with anything base.

يا متعال كل نقص وخسة

لدي إذا ألقيتني تحت خستي

O Transcendent One, all flaws and baseness

are mine if You cast me beneath my baseness.

وعن مركز الآفات لسني راقياً

إذا أنت لم ترفع مقامي ورتبتي

And I do not rise above the seat of afflictions

if You do not raise my station and my rank.

ونفسي لو جردتها من شؤونها

سواك تعالت عن سيئات النقيصة

And my soul, were You to strip it of its concerns

other than You, would rise above the evils of imperfection.
