ويا مبديء الأشياء من عدم إلى

وجود ومن غيب إلى الشاهدية

وجود ومن غيب إلى الشاهدية

And O Originator of things, from nonexistence into

O You who originated all things from nonexistence into

existence, and from the unseen into manifestation;

Being, and from the unseen into the evident,

ويا مبديء التطوير مخترعاً له

ويا مبديء التطوير مخترعاً له

بغير مثال سابق للقضية

بغير مثال سابق للقضية

And O Originator of transformation, devising it

O You who originated evolution, inventing it

without a prior model for the undertaking;

Without any prior example of the matter,

ويا مبديء الموجود بدءاً مهيأ

ويا مبديء الموجود بدءاً مهيأ

لرجعته بعد انعدام الخليقة

لرجعته بعد انعدام الخليقة

And O Originator of what exists, with a beginning prepared

O You who originated the existent with a beginning made ready

for its return after creation’s extinction;

For its return after the annihilation of creation,

ويا مبديء الايجاد لا لمسبب

ويا مبديء الايجاد لا لمسبب

سوى كونه المختار للمبدئية

سوى كونه المختار للمبدئية

And O Originator of bringing into being, for no cause

O You who originated bringing into existence, for no cause

save His free choice to originate;

Other than Your being the Chooser of origination,

ويا مبديء الابداع كوناً منظماً

ويا مبديء الابداع كوناً منظماً

بديعا حكيماً شاهداً للألوهة

بديعا حكيماً شاهداً للألوهة

And O Originator of creation without precedent—an ordered cosmos,

O You who originated creation, as an ordered universe,

wondrous, wisely fashioned, bearing witness to divinity;

Wondrously wise, a witness to divinity,

ويا مبديء الامكان لا لضرورة

ويا مبديء الامكان لا لضرورة

ولكن لسر الحكمة القدمية

ولكن لسر الحكمة القدمية

And O Originator of possibility, not out of necessity,

O You who originated possibility, not out of necessity,

but for the mystery of pre-eternal wisdom;

But out of the mystery of eternal wisdom,

ويا مبديء المصنوع وجهاً منوراً

ويا مبديء المصنوع وجهاً منوراً

بنور صفات السلب والواجبية

بنور صفات السلب والواجبية

And O Originator of the created work, a face illumined

O You who originated the artifact with a face lit

by the light of the attributes of negation and necessity;

By the light of the attributes of incomparability and necessity,

ويا مبديء الأسرار من ملكوتها

ويا مبديء الأسرار من ملكوتها

عرائس تهدى للنفوس الزكية

عرائس تهدى للنفوس الزكية

And O Originator of mysteries from their spiritual realm,

O You who originated mysteries out of Your kingdom,

brides presented to pure souls;

Brides bestowed upon purified souls,

ويا مبديء الأنوار من حضراتها

ويا مبديء الأنوار من حضراتها

ومبديء عرفان العقول المنيرة

ومبديء عرفان العقول المنيرة

And O Originator of lights from their realms of presence,

O You who originated lights from Your presences,

and Originator of the gnosis of luminous intellects;

And who originated the gnosis of enlightened intellects,

تقدست فابدأ لي حياة سرائري

تقدست فابدأ لي حياة سرائري

ونوراً به في الناس تمشي استقامتي

ونوراً به في الناس تمشي استقامتي

Holy are You! So bring forth for me the life of my inmost secrets,

You are sanctified! So begin for me the life of my innermost consciousness,

and a light by which my uprightness may walk among people.

And a light by which uprightness walks among people.

وإبدأ لي العرفان واجعله معرجي

وإبدأ لي العرفان واجعله معرجي

إليك وانسى في عوالم وحشتي

إليك وانسى في عوالم وحشتي

And bring forth gnosis for me, and make it my ascent

And begin for me gnosis, and make it my ascension

to You, and my solace in the worlds of my loneliness.

To You, and let me forget in the worlds of my desolation.
