And O Lord, O Lord, forgive what has been undertaken

By my servanthood, since it does not shun misdeeds.

And take my hand, O Lord; let me not be ruled

By my desire, lest I perish, plunging into deadly perils.

And O Lord, if I have overstepped my bounds and been deluded

By ignorance concerning You, beguiled by what displeases You,

Still, no face has been surrendered, nor sincere prayer offered,

By my servanthood, save purely for Your countenance.

Nor has it known a lord, when it humbly bows to Him,

Other than You; it calls upon Him, and He answers the caller.

And such are the servant's traits: he grows insolent in comfort

And panics when evil touches him, pleading for help.

Establish my perfection for me through submission to the might of the

Supreme Lordship, despite the imperfection of my state.

Thus, as a servant, my humility before You is pure,

And all my other states are the station of my glory.

And my being a servant, subduing my craving through You,

Is my deliverance, my sincere devotion, and my self's liberation.

By Your power, grant me mastery over the ordering of my world,

And do not leave the ordering of my affairs to my poor choices.

Though I have no power over even a mote,

The power is Yours; You decree what is against me and what is for me.
