And O Light, light of the Light, guiding to His light,

through the radiances of the name “Light,” possessed of precedence.

ويا نور وصفا منك بالذات لائقاً

تقدست عن جسم وعن عرضية

تقدست عن جسم وعن عرضية

And O Light, as an attribute from You, befitting the Essence,

You are hallowed beyond body and accidentality.

ويا نور بالعدل الذي لك مشرقاً

ويا نور بالعدل الذي لك مشرقاً

على صفحة التكوين في كل ذرة

على صفحة التكوين في كل ذرة

And O Light, shining through the justice that is Yours,

upon the page of creation, in every mote.

ويا نور من حيث الظهور الذي بدا

بمنفعل التأثير والفاعلية

بمنفعل التأثير والفاعلية

And O Light, in respect of the manifestation that appeared

in the recipient of influence and agency.

ويا نور م حيث الظهور لغيره

باخراجه من عالم العدمية

باخراجه من عالم العدمية

And O Light, in respect of manifestation to what is other than Him,

by bringing it forth from the realm of nonbeing.

ويا نور ملقي النور في كل نير

ويا نور ملقي النور في كل نير

ومشرق أضواء القلوب المضيئة

ومشرق أضواء القلوب المضيئة

And O Light, casting light into every luminary,

and making the lights of radiant hearts shine.

ويا نور روح الأمر من حيث أمره

ويا نور روح الأمر من حيث أمره

واصداره بالأمر عن عين قدرة

واصداره بالأمر عن عين قدرة

And O Light of the spirit of the Command, in respect of His command,

and His sending it forth by command from the very essence of power.

ويا نور روح القدس من حيث نفثه

والهامه للروع نور الحقيقة

والهامه للروع نور الحقيقة

And O Light of the Holy Spirit, in its breathing

and its inspiring the heart with the light of Truth.

ويا نور جبرائيل من حيث وحيه

ويا نور جبرائيل من حيث وحيه

على ظاهر الألباب ظهر الشريعة

على ظاهر الألباب ظهر الشريعة

And O Light of Gabriel, in his revelation

of the Law’s outward form upon the outward face of intellects.

بنورك نورني وهب لي مرات ال

يقين ومزق حجب طبعي وظلمتي

By Your light, enlighten me, and grant me moments of

certainty, and tear apart the veils of my nature and my darkness.

بنورك أوقلني على جنب باطني

فمعرفتي اياك عرفان رتبتي

فمعرفتي اياك عرفان رتبتي

By Your light, make me ascend the flank of my inner being,

for my knowing You is knowledge of my rank.
