ويا صمد الباقي الجليل لذاته

ويا صمد الباقي الجليل لذاته

بقدرته تدبير أمر البرية

بقدرته تدبير أمر البرية

And O Eternal Refuge, everlasting and majestic in essence,

O Eternal, Self-Sufficient, Majestic in His Essence

by His power the affairs of creation are governed.

By His power, arranging the affairs of creation

ويا صمد الكافي لأية صامد

ويا صمد الكافي لأية صامد

بآماله للحيطة الصمدية

بآماله للحيطة الصمدية

And O Eternal Refuge, sufficient for every seeker's aim,

O All-Sufficient for any steadfast one

with his hopes directed toward Your all-encompassing care.

By His hopes, for the steadfast way

ويا صمد الأعلى ومأثم غاية

ويا صمد الأعلى ومأثم غاية

لمجدك أوحد يحيط برتبة

لمجدك أوحد يحيط برتبة

And O Eternal Refuge, the Most High—there is no end

O Most High, Ultimate Purpose

to Your glory, nor any limit encompassing Your rank.

To Your glory alone, encompassing all ranks

ويا صمد المستوجب السؤدد الذي

ويا صمد المستوجب السؤدد الذي

تذل وتعنو تحته كل عزة

تذل وتعنو تحته كل عزة

And O Eternal Refuge, deserving the sovereignty beneath which

O Worthy of praise, conferring bounty, to whom

all might is humbled and bows.

All pride bows down and surrenders beneath

ويا صمد المعطي النفوس خلاصها

ويا صمد المعطي النفوس خلاصها

وتجريدها من عالم البشرية

وتجريدها من عالم البشرية

And O Eternal Refuge, who grants souls their deliverance,

O Giver of souls their salvation

and their detachment from the realm of humanity.

And stripping them of the world of humanity

ويا صمد المعطي القلوب زكاءها

ويا صمد المعطي القلوب زكاءها

وتعريجها في عالم الملكية

وتعريجها في عالم الملكية

And O Eternal Refuge, who grants hearts their purity,

O Giver of hearts their purity

and their ascent within the angelic realm.

And lifting them to the realm of divinity

صمدت بأن وفقتني لك مسنداً

صمدت بأن وفقتني لك مسنداً

إليك مهماتي وفاقة ذلتي

إليك مهماتي وفاقة ذلتي

I turned to You because You enabled me, entrusting

I have steadfastly clung to You as my support

to You my concerns and the need of my lowliness.

To You I entrust all my affairs, in my lowliness

صمدت وما عندي من الخير ذرة

صمدت وما عندي من الخير ذرة

سوى حسن ظني فيك فهو ذريعتي

سوى حسن ظني فيك فهو ذريعتي

I turned to You, though I possess not an atom of goodness,

I have been steadfast though I have not an atom of good

save my good opinion of You; that is my means of approach.

Except my good opinion of You, which is my excuse

صمدت وما صمدت بحولي وإنما

صمدت وما صمدت بحولي وإنما

بحمدك بالاخلاص حققت نهضتي

بحمدك بالاخلاص حققت نهضتي

I turned to You, not by my own strength; it was only

I have been steadfast not by my own strength, but

through praising You, in sincerity, that I achieved my rising.

By praising You sincerely, I have achieved my resolve

صمدت وما تخفى عليك مطالبي

صمدت وما تخفى عليك مطالبي

بعينك ارهاقي وعجزي ومحنتي

بعينك ارهاقي وعجزي ومحنتي

I turned to You, and my requests are not hidden from You.

I have been steadfast, and nothing of my needs is hidden from You

My exhaustion, my helplessness, and my affliction are in Your sight.

By Your eyes, my exhaustion, inadequacy and tribulation

وما اضطر من ألقى مقاليد ضره

وما اضطر من ألقى مقاليد ضره

إلى الصمد المعطي بلا قيد علة

إلى الصمد المعطي بلا قيد علة

And none is left desperate who entrusts the keys of his distress

No distressed soul who has surrendered the reins of his pain

to the Eternal Refuge, the Giver unbound by any cause.

To the All-Sufficient Giver without limit, condition
