ونعم النصير الناصر اللّه لم أعذ

بسلطانه إلا تجلى بنصرتي

بسلطانه إلا تجلى بنصرتي

And how excellent a Helper is God, the Giver of victory! Never have I sought refuge

in His sovereign power without His manifesting Himself to aid me.

ونعم النصير اللّه حسبي بنصره

ونعم النصير اللّه حسبي بنصره

على النفس والشيطان وسط العريكة

على النفس والشيطان وسط العريكة

And how excellent a Helper is God! He suffices me with His aid

against the self and Satan, deep within my nature.

ونعم النصير اللّه يسمع دعوتي

ونعم النصير اللّه يسمع دعوتي

ويبصر أعدائي ويرسل نجدتي

ويبصر أعدائي ويرسل نجدتي

And how excellent a Helper is God! He hears my prayer

and sees my enemies and sends me succor.

ونعم النصير اللّه حاربت باسمه

ونعم النصير اللّه حاربت باسمه

عزائم كفر ناصبتني فذلت

عزائم كفر ناصبتني فذلت

And how excellent a Helper is God! In His name I fought

the resolves of unbelief that opposed me, and they were humbled.

ونعم النصير اللّه سل حسامه

ونعم النصير اللّه سل حسامه

فبدد أعدائي وافلج حجتي

فبدد أعدائي وافلج حجتي

And how excellent a Helper is God! He drew His sword,

so He scattered my enemies and made my case prevail.

ونعم النصير اللّه يخذل ظالماً

ونعم النصير اللّه يخذل ظالماً

وينصر مظلوماً ولو بعد برهة

وينصر مظلوماً ولو بعد برهة

And how excellent a Helper is God! He forsakes an oppressor

and helps the oppressed, even after a time.

ونعم النصير اللّه ما ضاع محتمي

ونعم النصير اللّه ما ضاع محتمي

حماه ولم يخذل ضراعة مخبت

حماه ولم يخذل ضراعة مخبت

And how excellent a Helper is God! No seeker of refuge has come to ruin

in His sanctuary, nor has He failed a humble worshipper's plea.

ونعم النصير اللّه حجته علت

ونعم النصير اللّه حجته علت

وكلمته تعلو على كل كلمة

وكلمته تعلو على كل كلمة

And how excellent a Helper is God! His proof has risen high,

and His word rises above every word.

Your champion, O excellent Helper, with an onslaught

divine, death-dealing, wrathful—

نصيرك خير الناصرين على العدى

نصيرك خير الناصرين على العدى

يكتّب خيل اللّه في كل بقعة

يكتّب خيل اللّه في كل بقعة

Your champion, O best of helpers, against the foes,

forms God's cavalry into squadrons in every place.

سيوفك يا ذا البطش والأخذ سلها

على الخصم أنا بينهم بمضيعة

على الخصم أنا بينهم بمضيعة

Your swords, O Lord of mighty assault and seizure—draw them

against the foe: I am among them, unprotected.
