أمانك لي يا خالقي كان معقلا

And how could I fear calamities, when

How can I fear mishaps when your protection,

Your protection alone, O my Creator, has been my stronghold?

My Creator, has been my fortress?

وحفظك حرزي يا حفيظ وممنعي

فلم أختشِ من حادث الدهر موجلا

فلم أختشِ من حادث الدهر موجلا

And Your guardianship is my refuge, O Preserver, and my defense,

Your guarding is my talisman, O Preserver and Protector,

So I have not trembled in fear before any calamity of time.

So I never feared the blows of fate greatly.

أفوض أمري واضطراري ومهنتي

I entrust my affairs, my distress, and my toil

I entrust my affairs, troubles and livelihood

To the Almighty, the Everlasting, who resolves difficulties,

To the All Powerful, Everlasting, to unravel the complex.

محيط بكليات عجزي وفاقني

محيط بكليات عجزي وفاقني

قدير أزل ضعفي ووهني معجلا

قدير أزل ضعفي ووهني معجلا

Encompassing all my helplessness and surpassing me.

Encompassing all my incapacities, You exceeded me,

O All-Powerful One, swiftly remove my weakness and frailty.

The Ancient, Powerful turned my weakness and frailty to strength.

أزل ضعف حالي يا قوي بقوة

أزل ضعف حالي يا قوي بقوة

جلالية أبقى بها متجللا

جلالية أبقى بها متجللا

Remove the weakness of my state, O Strong One, with a power

You erased my feeble state with Your mighty power,

Of majesty, in which I may remain enrobed.

With which I remain arrayed in splendor.

ألوذ بجبار السموات راجياً

ألوذ بجبار السموات راجياً

لجبر انكساري مخبتاً متذللا

لجبر انكساري مخبتاً متذللا

I seek refuge in the Compeller of the heavens, hoping

I seek refuge with the Almighty of the heavens, hoping

For the mending of my brokenness, humble and submissive.

For the mending of my fractures, humbled and submitting.

فيا قادر ابدل بعجزي قدرة

فيا قادر ابدل بعجزي قدرة

الهية أظهر بها العدل في الملا

الهية أظهر بها العدل في الملا

So, O Powerful One, replace my helplessness with power—

My God, replace my incapacity with divine ability,

Divine, through which I may manifest justice among the people.

Revealing through it justice in the world.

سميع الدعا اسمع دعوتي وشكايتي

سميع الدعا اسمع دعوتي وشكايتي

ويا كافي الهم اكفني الضر والبلا

ويا كافي الهم اكفني الضر والبلا

O Hearer of prayer, hear my plea and my complaint.

Hear my prayer and lament, O Hearer of prayers,

And O Dispeller of worry, shield me from harm and affliction.

And O Sufficer of needs, spare me harm and trials.

دعوت دعا المستجير وأنت يا

دعوت دعا المستجير وأنت يا

قريب ترى ما مس جنبي فاعضلا

قريب ترى ما مس جنبي فاعضلا

I have prayed the prayer of one seeking refuge, and You, O

I called out, pleading, and You O Near One, see

Near One, see what has struck my side and proved grievous.

What has struck my side, so remove it.

أجب دعوات يا مجيب بثثتها

أجب دعوات يا مجيب بثثتها

وفرج على عبد أتاك معولا

وفرج على عبد أتاك معولا

Answer, O Answerer, the prayers I have poured forth,

Answer my prayers, O Responder, as I uttered them,

And grant relief to a servant who has come to You in trust.

And relieve Your servant who came to You hopeful.

ترى سوء حظي يا كبير وذلتي

ترى سوء حظي يا كبير وذلتي

فيا متعال خذ بجدي إلى العلى

فيا متعال خذ بجدي إلى العلى

You see my ill fortune, O Great One, and my humiliation.

You see my misfortune and humiliation,

So, O Most High, raise my fortune to the heights.

So O Exalted One, elevate me to the heights.

ولم أخش اذلالاً وكان تعززي

ولم أخش اذلالاً وكان تعززي

بركنك عزاً يا عزيز وموئلا

بركنك عزاً يا عزيز وموئلا

Nor have I feared humiliation, for I have found strength

I feared no disgrace, for my dignity

In Your support—honor and refuge, O Mighty One.

In Your pillar was honor, O Honorable Sanctuary.

أيدركني ضيم نصيري ومن تكن

أيدركني ضيم نصيري ومن تكن

له ناصراً مولاي كان المبجلا

له ناصراً مولاي كان المبجلا

Can oppression overtake me, my Helper? And whoever has You

Do You see the wrong done to me, O Protector?

As his helper, my Lord, is held in honor.

Then bare from Your dwellings a sharpened blade against them.

ترى ظلم قومي يا مهيمن جانبي

ترى ظلم قومي يا مهيمن جانبي

فجرد عليهم من مواضيك مقصلا

فجرد عليهم من مواضيك مقصلا

You see my people's injustice toward me, O Guardian;

With Your might, give me glorious honor, O Glorious One,

So draw against them a cleaving sword from among Your keen blades.

That humbles my stubborn enemy, making him miserable.

بعزك مجد يا مجيد مهابتي

بعزك مجد يا مجيد مهابتي

يظل لها خصمي العنيد مذللا

يظل لها خصمي العنيد مذللا

By Your might, O Glorious One, heighten the awe I inspire,

Thwart the schemes of those who schemed against me with malice,

So that my stubborn adversary remains humbled before it.

For Your schemes against enemies remain most deadly.

وكد من رماني يا ودود بكيده

وكد من رماني يا ودود بكيده

فكيدك للأعداء لا زال اقتلا

فكيدك للأعداء لا زال اقتلا

And counterplot against whoever assails me with his plots, O Loving One;

With the secret of Your Powerful Name, grant me

So may Your plotting against enemies ever remain deadlier.

The strength of power in action and speech, completely.

بسر اسمك الفعال في الكل آتنى

بسر اسمك الفعال في الكل آتنى

نفوذ القوى في الفعل والقول مجملا

نفوذ القوى في الفعل والقول مجملا

By the mystery of Your name, effective in all things, grant me

With Your power, O Powerful One, repel my vengeance

The full efficacy of power in deed and word.

And extend my fortunes, O Strong and Perfect One.

بحولك يا ذا القوة ادفع نكايتي

بحولك يا ذا القوة ادفع نكايتي

ومتن حظوظي يا متين وكملا

ومتن حظوظي يا متين وكملا

By Your might, O Possessor of strength, repel the harm done to me.

O Truthful in His word, fulfill my hopes,

And strengthen my fortunes, O Firm One, and perfect them.

For I never ceased to hope in You for fulfillment.

ويا صادقاً في قوله حقق الرجا

ويا صادقاً في قوله حقق الرجا

فما زلت في الانجاز منك مؤملا

فما زلت في الانجاز منك مؤملا

And O One true to His word, fulfill my hope,

For I have never ceased hoping for fulfillment from You.
