الله أكبر بسم اللّه باللّه

اللّه أكبر حق الكبير للّه

God is greatest—in God's name, through God.

God is greatest; the Great One's due belongs to God.

اللّه أكبر تكبيراً لعزته

العز للّه والتكبير للّه

God is greatest—in magnification of His might.

Might belongs to God, and magnification to God.

اللّه أكبر تعظيماً لهيبته

الملك للّه والتعظيم للّه

God is greatest—in reverence for His awe-inspiring majesty.

Sovereignty belongs to God, and exaltation to God.

اللّه أكبر تمجيداً لقدرته

القهر للّه والتمجيد للّه

God is greatest—in glorification of His power.

Irresistible dominion belongs to God, and glorification to God.

اللّه أكبر تقديساً لرتبته

القدس للّه والتنرية للّه

God is greatest—in sanctification of His station.

Holiness belongs to God, and [transcendence] to God.

اللّه أكبر تحميداً يحق له

الشكر للّه والتحميد للّه

God is greatest—with praise that is His due.

Gratitude belongs to God, and praise to God.

اللّه أكبر جل اللّه عن شبه

في الذات والنعت لا أشباه للّه

God is greatest; God is exalted beyond resemblance.

In essence and attribute, God has no likenesses.

اللّه أكبر ليس الأمر مشتركاً

لا يقتضي الأمر إلا وحدة اللّه

God is greatest; the matter is not shared.

The matter entails nothing but God's oneness.

اللّه أكبر حال البدء عنه وحا

ل الانتهاء هما صنعان للّه

God is greatest; the state of beginning is from Him, and the state

of ending—both are God's works.

اللّه أكبر حقت أوليته

وآخريته لا حد للّه

God is greatest; His firstness is established.

And His lastness; God has no limit.

اللّه أكبر ضاءت ظاهريته

آثاره كلها ذلت على اللّه

God is greatest; His manifestness shines.

His signs all [pointed] to God.

اللّه أكبر تعلو الباطنية عن

درك الحقيقة لا ادراك للّه

God is greatest; His inwardness transcends

the apprehension of reality; God cannot be comprehended.

اللّه أكبر جلت قادريته

عن معجز خارج عن قدرة اللّه

God is greatest; His omnipotence is far above

any thwarting force beyond God's power.

اللّه أكبر ما ضاقت احاطته

تكنفت كل شيء حيطة اللّه

God is greatest; His encompassing has never been confined.

God's encompassing reach surrounds everything.

اللّه أكبر حياً لا فناء له

ثبت البقا تقتضي ذاتية اللّه

God is greatest—ever-living, without extinction.

Permanence is established; God's very essence requires it.

اللّه أكبر قيوم الوجود على

كل الحوادث قيومية اللّه

God is greatest, Sustainer of existence; over

all created things extends God's sustaining power.

اللّه أكبر ذو العلم القديم بما

قد كان أو سيكون العلم اللّه

God is greatest, possessing eternal knowledge of what

has been or will be; knowledge is God's.

اللّه أكبر ما علم بمكتسب

ولا بشرط وجود خيرة اللّه

God is greatest; His knowledge is not acquired.

Nor is God's choice conditional upon existence.

اللّه أكبر مختاراً إرادته

شرط المكون والتكوين للّه

God is greatest, freely choosing; His will

is the condition of what is created, and creation belongs to God.

اللّه أكبر لم ينشىء بدائعه

على مثال له سبق على اللّه

God is greatest; He did not create His marvels

after a model that had existed before God.

اللّه أكبر لم يبدىء خليقته

ولم يعدها بعون ما سوى اللّه

God is greatest; He did not originate His creation

or restore it with help from anything besides God.

اللّه أكبر عز الجبرياء له

الجبرياء على التحقيق للّه

God is greatest; the might of overwhelming majesty is His.

Overwhelming majesty truly belongs to God.

اللّه أكبر مجد الكبرياء له

على المنازع فيها قصمة اللّه

God is greatest; the glory of supreme grandeur is His.

Upon anyone contesting it falls God's crushing blow.

اللّه أكبر عز قائم وجلا

ل دائم حق فردانية اللّه

God is greatest; abiding might and majesty

everlasting are the due of God's unique oneness.

اللّه أكبر جبار لقوته ال

ايجاب والسلب عزت قوة اللّه

God is greatest, all-compelling; to His power belong

affirmation and negation; exalted is God's power.

اللّه أكبر عدل نافذ ويد

بالقسط آخذة جلت يد اللّه

God is greatest; justice takes effect, and a hand

seizes with equity—exalted is God's hand.

اللّه أكبر ملك لا نظير به

ولا وزير ولا أضداد للّه

God is greatest, a King without equal.

God has no minister and no adversaries.

اللّه أكبر جد شانه عظم

الجد والعظم الذاتي للّه

God is greatest; His station is exalted and mighty.

Majesty and intrinsic greatness belong to God.

اللّه أكبر أمجاد العلاء له

القهر والغلب والسلطان للّه

God is greatest; the glories of loftiness are His.

Irresistible dominion, victory, and authority belong to God.

اللّه أكبر أمجاد مقدسة

وفوق نسبتنا مجدية اللّه

God is greatest; sanctified glories,

and God's glory surpasses what we can ascribe.

اللّه أكبر انعام وطول يد

سيقت إلى خلقه عن قسمة اللّه

God is greatest; bounty and a generous hand

are conveyed to His creation by God's apportionment.

اللّه أكبر تفضيلاً برحمته

وقلة قدرتها حكمة اللّه

God is greatest, bestowing favor through His mercy.

And scarcity is apportioned by God's wisdom.

اللّه أكبر الطاف وفضل يد

للطائعين وللعاصين للّه

God is greatest; kindnesses and a bountiful hand

for the obedient and the disobedient belong to God.

اللّه أكبر ما أعلى سياسته

يعطي ويمنع تدبيراً من اللّه

God is greatest; how lofty His governance!

He gives and withholds—governance from God.

اللّه أكبر من أعطى فعن كرم

أعطاه والمنع فيه خيرة اللّه

God is greatest; whomever He gives to, it is generously

that He gives him; in withholding lies God's best choice.

اللّه أكبر تلك الحالتين على

كرامتين لنا من نعمة اللّه

God is greatest; those two states rest upon

two honors for us among God's blessings.

اللّه أكبر قدراً ذو الجلال وذو ال

اكرام من بسطتي في مدحة اللّه

God is greatest in worth, Possessor of Majesty and of

Honor—part of my outpouring in praise of God.

اللّه أكبر شأنٌ ليس يبلغه

حمدي وذكري ولكن دعوة اللّه

God is greatest; His station cannot be reached by

my praise and remembrance—yet there is God's summons.

اللّه أكبر عظماً أن يقوم له

شيء علت كل شيء هيبة اللّه

God is greatest—too mighty to be withstood by

anything; God's awe-inspiring majesty towers above all things.

اللّه أكبر قهراً أن يضادده

شيء على كل شيء سطوة اللّه

God is greatest—too overwhelming to be opposed by

anything; God's might holds sway over all things.

اللّه أكبر ملكاً عن مناددة

الند للّه منفي عن اللّه

God is greatest in sovereignty, beyond rivalry.

An equal to God is ruled out for God.

اللّه أكبر شأناً عن معادلة

قد استحالت بلا شك عن اللّه

God is greatest in station, beyond equivalence,

which is, beyond doubt, impossible for God.

اللّه أكبر عزاً عن مقاومة

من أين للعجز أن يقوى على اللّه

God is greatest in might, beyond resistance.

How could helplessness ever prevail over God?

اللّه أكبر رزاق بغير حسا

ب قبل عرض الدعاوى منة اللّه

God is greatest, providing without reckoning.

Before claims are presented comes God's favor.

اللّه أكبر وهاب مواهبه

سراً وجهراً قضايا رحمة اللّه

God is greatest, the Bestower; His gifts,

in secret and openly, are decrees of God's mercy.

اللّه أكبر جود مطلق وأيا

د سابغات والطاف من اللّه

God is greatest; unbounded generosity and favors

abundant, and kindnesses, come from God.

اللّه أكبر موجود لطالبه

لا يحجب اللّه قطعاً طالب اللّه

God is greatest, found by whoever seeks Him.

God certainly does not shut out the seeker of God.

اللّه أكبر يدعوني إلى كرم

وهو الغني وبي فقر إلى اللّه

God is greatest; He calls me to generosity.

He is the Self-Sufficient, while I am in need of God.

اللّه أكبر منا قبل مسألتي

ونفس مسألتي من من اللّه

God is greatest, granting bounty before my request.

And my very request is a favor from God.

اللّه أكبر يدعوني لمغفرة

ورحمة وأعاصي دعوة اللّه

God is greatest; He calls me to forgiveness

and mercy, yet I disobey God's summons.

اللّه أكبر أنساه فيذكرني

وقوتي في المعاصي نعمة اللّه

God is greatest; I forget Him, yet He remembers me.

And my strength in disobedience is God's blessing.

اللّه أكبر ايجادي ومصلحتي

دنيا وأخرى بقيومية اللّه

God is greatest; my creation and my welfare

in this world and the next are through God's sustaining power.

اللّه أكبر ما لي غير نظرته

هلكت لو فارقتني نظرة اللّه

God is greatest; I have nothing but His gaze.

I would perish if God's gaze left me.

اللّه أكبر غير اللّه مفتقر

مثلي إليه ومنظور من اللّه

God is greatest; all other than God is needy,

like me, dependent on Him and watched over by God.

اللّه أكبر لو حاقت ذنوبي بي

فليس لي عاصم يغني من اللّه

God is greatest; were my sins to beset me,

I would have no protector to avail me against God.

اللّه أكبر لولا رحمة كتبت

منه عليه لحلت نقمة اللّه

God is greatest; were it not for mercy prescribed

by Him upon Himself, God's vengeance would descend.

اللّه أكبر عين اللّه ناظرة

قبحي ولكن وفي حلم من اللّه

God is greatest; God's eye beholds

my ugliness; yet I am within God's forbearance.

اللّه أكبر لولا أن يقابلني

جمال ربي سبتني أخذة اللّه

God is greatest; were I not met by

my Lord's beauty, God's grasp would take me captive.

اللّه أكبر آمالي يحققها

فيه يقيني وحسن الظن باللّه

God is greatest; my hopes are fulfilled by

my certainty in Him and my good opinion of God.

اللّه أكبر اخشاه لرتبته

والذنب يوجب أيضاً خشية اللّه

God is greatest; I fear Him for His station.

And sin also necessitates fear of God.

اللّه أكبر نفسي في أوامرها

بالسوء أرجو عليها نصرة اللّه

God is greatest; my soul, in its commands

to evil—I hope for God's help against it.

اللّه أكبر شيطاني غلبت به

ما منقذي منه إلا عصمة اللّه

God is greatest; through my devil I am overcome.

Nothing saves me from him but God's protection.

اللّه أكبر حسبي اللّه منه ومن

مراده بي عليه لعنة اللّه

God is greatest; God suffices me against him and against

what he intends for me; God's curse be upon him.

اللّه أكبر سلطاني كمالك أ

يدني بتقوى ورضوان من اللّه

God is greatest; my power is Your perfection—

strengthen me with piety and good pleasure from God.

اللّه أكبر حسن بالصلاة على

محمد ختم قرباني إلى اللّه

God is greatest; how fair, with blessings upon

Muhammad, is the close of my offering to God.
