الهي معز الأولياء بعصمه

الهي معز الأولياء بعصمه

وغفرانه والرحمة الأبدية

وغفرانه والرحمة الأبدية

My God honors the saints through His protection,

O my God, protector of the saints with Your protection

His forgiveness, and eternal mercy.

And Your forgiveness and eternal mercy

الهي تؤتي الملك والعز من تشا

الهي تؤتي الملك والعز من تشا

وهذا اختصاص سره للألوهة

وهذا اختصاص سره للألوهة

My God, You grant dominion and honor to whomever You will;

O my God, You give kingdom and honor to whom You wish

this is a prerogative whose secret belongs to divinity.

And this is a secret of divinity

وعزتك اللهم لا عز فوقها

وعزتك اللهم لا عز فوقها

وسبحان رب العزة السرمدية

وسبحان رب العزة السرمدية

And Your might, O God—no might surpasses it;

By Your might, O God, there is no might above it

glory be to the Lord of everlasting might.

Glory be to the Lord of eternal might

وعزة من أعززته منك عزة

وعزة من أعززته منك عزة

بعزتك اللهم عزت وجلت

بعزتك اللهم عزت وجلت

The honor of one You have honored is honor from You;

And the might of one whom You strengthen with might from You

through Your might, O God, it has grown mighty and sublime.

By Your might, O God, You are mighty and majestic

وعزة من أعززته يا معز لن

وعزة من أعززته يا معز لن

تضام ولن تبلى بعزة قوة

تضام ولن تبلى بعزة قوة

And the honor of one You have honored, O Giver of Honor, shall never

And the might of one whom You make mighty, O Mighty One

suffer wrong, nor be worn away by any power's might.

Will not be impaired or worn out, with the might of power

وأعزز بمن ألبسته العز راقياً

وأعزز بمن ألبسته العز راقياً

بذلته للّه أعظم رتبة

بذلته للّه أعظم رتبة

And how exalted is the one You have clothed in honor, ascending

And make mighty the one whom You clothed with sublime might

through his humility before God to the highest rank!

Who sacrificed it for God, the greatest rank

وما العز كل العز إلا بذلة

وما العز كل العز إلا بذلة

لوجهك يفنى كل حظ وعزة

لوجهك يفنى كل حظ وعزة

And honor—all honor—is found only in humility

And might is not all might except through sacrifice

before Your face; all self-interest and honor pass away.

To Your face, every fortune and might perish

ومن لي بدرك العز والنفس سائقي

ومن لي بدرك العز والنفس سائقي

إلى الذل والخسران شوق الذبيحة

إلى الذل والخسران شوق الذبيحة

And who can help me attain honor, while my soul drives me

And who do I have but You, might and life driving me

toward abasement and loss with a sacrificial animal's longing?

To humiliation and loss, longing as a sacrifice

وعزي وسلطاني الحقيقي ثابت

وعزي وسلطاني الحقيقي ثابت

بسحقي ومحقي عالم البشرية

بسحقي ومحقي عالم البشرية

And my honor and my true sovereignty stand firm

And my true might and authority remain firm

through my crushing and effacing the realm of human nature.

By my pulverization and annihilation, the world of mankind

ونفسي إن عزت فأنت معزها

ونفسي إن عزت فأنت معزها

إذا انخلعت عن ربقة الشهوية

إذا انخلعت عن ربقة الشهوية

And if my soul gains honor, You are the one who honors it,

And my soul, if mighty then You make it mighty

when it slips free of the halter of sensual desire.

When it strips off the garment of desires

فهب لي عز الروح فيك مؤيداً

فهب لي عز الروح فيك مؤيداً

بعز ظهور يا معز ومكنة

بعز ظهور يا معز ومكنة

So grant me the spirit's honor in You, strengthened

So grant me the might of the spirit in You supported

by the might of manifestation, O Giver of Honor, and power.

By the might of manifestation, O Mighty, All-Powerful
