وأنت الذي أحسبت كل الخليقة
And who, O Sufficer of the worlds, will meet my need,
O Accountant of the worlds, who can suffice me in my poverty,
when You are the One who has amply provided for all creation?
You who have accounted for all creation,
وحسبيand enough for me اكتفاءcontentment ياO حسيبSufficer وغنيةًand freedom from want
وحسبي اكتفاء يا حسيب وغنيةً

بحسبتك اللهم أكرم حسبة
Enough for me, O Sufficer, are contentment and freedom from want
My sufficiency is in being satisfied, O Sufficient One, and enriched
through Your provision, O God—the most generous provision.
By your accounting, O Allah, most generous Accountant.

So which soul, my Lord, have you not covered
with Your goodness and beneficence at every moment?
With blessings and kindness at every moment?

And what soul, O Sufficer, have You neglected,
And which soul, O Accountant, has it lost
so that it fled to a sufficer other than You and hastened away?
When it turned to none but You and clung?

Exalted are You! No being other than You brings forth
You are exalted, none exists but You as existence,
what truly suffices those You have brought into being.
Sufficiency for those You created in truth.

Who, then, is there for me, with my helplessness complete and my dire need
So for me and my all-encompassing incapacity and need,
before Your eyes? Who can suffice to ward off my dire need?
Who can suffice to meet my need but You?

Far from it! This servant has no suffiency
but You, and no one else to look to for a pressing need.
Apart from You, nor one from whom to hope for his mission.

My God, I complain of all my anguish and sorrow
O my God, I complain of all sorrow and grief
to You; so, for my sake, cast stones at my affliction.
To You, so be the repeller of my complaint.

I have no covenant that I will find rejection
to You, O Sufficer, or been left disappointed.
When I turn my hopes to you, O Sufficient One, disappointed.

Will suffice, so account, O Accountant, for my richness!
