And O Bringer of Harm, benefit turns away from whomever You intend
O Harmful One! How futile is harming whom you intended
to harm; removing harm is the prerogative of the Godhead.
With harm, while removing harm is God's sole dominion

You inflict harm; none seeking to alter it can prevail over You,
You harm, but none can rise above you
nor can the afflicted shield himself against You with any defense.
Nor can the harmed evade you through any means

You inflict harm as recompense and as a trial, as You will;
You harm as requital and tribulation as He wills
and that is justice, settled beforehand in the decree.
And that is justice preceding in the case

The existence of harm is not from our sheer power
belonging independently to the self, apart from a prior power.
Of essence, devoid of preceding power

I disavow length, strength, and might

Other than God in benefit or any harm

Harm is from You, benefit from You, and wisdom necessitated

The powers of causes have no agency of their own;
Causal forces have no action of their own
but they are effects of action and power.
Rather, they are effects of action and power

My God, I have submitted to judgment, accepting
My God, I have surrendered to Your decree willingly
Your decree, seeking refuge in the stronghold of Your will.
Delighted with the pillar of Your will

Through You I have dispelled the harm that touched me, for
You have removed, with Yourself, the harm that touched me when
I knew with certainty: God is the reliever of my distress.
I was certain that God would remove my hardship

And seize with grievous harm a soul that dares
And with the utmost of harm, take a bold spirit
defy God—in the blink of an eye—with the mightiest seizure.
To God return the gaze, greatest of takings
