فإذا نظرَت بعين عقلكَ لم تجد

فإذا نظرَت بعين عقلكَ لم تجد

شيئاً سواه على الذواتِ مصوَّرا

شيئاً سواه على الذواتِ مصوَّرا

When you look with the eye of your intellect, you will find

So if you look with the eye of your intellect, you will not find

nothing other than Him, imaged upon all essences.

anything but Him portrayed upon beings.

وإذا طلَبت حقيقة من غيرهِ

وإذا طلَبت حقيقة من غيرهِ

فبذيلِ جهلِك لا تزالُ معثَّرا

فبذيلِ جهلِك لا تزالُ معثَّرا

And if you seek a reality apart from Him,

And if you seek truth from other than Him,

caught in the hem of your ignorance, you will never cease stumbling.

then you will remain tripped up by the hem of your ignorance.
