Restore union to me, restore it.

Return to me the union, return

For my union with you is new.

For my union with you is renewed

And bring union and nearness close,

And bring close the union and the lovers

for nearness is a festival for lovers.

For nearness to lovers is a feast

Take my heart and search it,

Take my heart and search it

and turn it over as you wish.

And turn it over as you wish

For if you find in it anyone but you,

If you find in it other than you

increase my separation from you—increase it.

Increase my distance, increase

And every day on which I see you,

And every day I see you in it

that, to me, is a happy day.

That is for me a joyful day
