شوقي دعاني وافنيت فقرا

ديروا الأواني واسقوني خَمره

My longing called me, and I wasted away in poverty.

Pass the vessels around and give me his wine to drink.

بها نعربد

ما بين ساداتي

With it we carouse

Among my masters.

عشق مجدّد

وطابَت أوقاتي

A love renewed,

And my hours grew sweet.

بالحب نشهَد

عسى الفرج يأتي

Through love we bear witness;

May relief come.

يا من نشاني يا من لهُ القُدرَه

ديروا الأواني واسقوني خَمره

O you who brought me into being, O you who possess power.

Pass the vessels around and give me his wine to drink.

يا أهلَ الحُمَيّا

قَلبي يحِنّ لكُم

O people of strong wine,

My heart yearns for you.

جودوا عليّ

من طيب خمرَتِكُم

Give generously to me

From your fine wine.

قولوا هنِيّا

عاشِق أتيتُ لكُم

Say, “May it bring you joy!”

As a lover, I have come to you.

عاشِق وفالي وأنابِكُم نبرى

ديروا الأواني واسقوني خَمره

A lover kept faith with me, and through you I am healed.

Pass the vessels around and give me his wine to drink.

رقّوا لحالي

باللَه يا أهل اللَه

Have compassion for my plight,

For God's sake, O people of God.

أشغلتُ بالي

بكُم وحولِ اللَه

I have occupied my mind

With you and God's might.

روحي وبالي

هِمتُ في حبّ اللَه

My soul and my mind—

I lost myself in the love of God.

هيّا الإخواتي يا سادتي تعرى

ديروا الأواني واسقوني خَمره

Come, my brethren! O my masters, strip bare.

Pass the vessels around and give me his wine to drink.

ربّ سألتُك

يا من له الإحسان

Lord, I have asked you,

O you to whom goodness belongs,

بأحمَد حبيبك

والسادة الأعيان

By Ahmad, your beloved,

And the eminent masters:

سامِح عُبيدك

يوم الوقوف عُريان

Forgive your humble servant

On the day of standing naked.

واجعل لي أماني حبّ ضيا الزهرا

دبروا الأواني واسقوني خمرَه

And make love of al-Zahra's radiance my hope.
