قد لاح لي ما غاب عنّي

What had been absent from me has appeared to me.

What was hidden from me has indeed shone forth to me.

The totality of the worlds was lifted from me.

And the light of my heart has awakened.

And my heart’s light has indeed awakened.

تراني غائب عن كل أين

كأسُ المعاني حلوُ المذاق

You see me absent from every “where.”

The cup of meanings is sweet to taste.

لقد تبطّى ما كان مخفى

والكون كله طربت طيا

What had been hidden had indeed tarried.

Indeed, what was hidden has tarried.

And the whole universe—I was enraptured: a folding-away.

And the whole cosmos—I rejoiced; a folding-up [wording unclear].

منّي عليّ دارت كؤوسي

From me, upon me, my cups revolved.

My cups went round, from me back to me.
