Indeed, in the palace with its pavilion is a full moon,
In the palace of splendor is a full moon
lovely in coy grace, striking the heart;
Of beauty that grieves the heart when it sets

enamored of saffron perfume—from him wafts
Passion for the beloved blows from it
a scent of sweet bay when he rises, turning back.
A fragrant breeze when the tryst is delayed

He wears silk-and-wool cloth, bordered cloaks, and silk,
It wears brocade, head-wraps, and armor
and [fine, new] striped cloth from Yemen.
And a Yemeni headband, finely woven
