ظَفَرتَyou have won مِنَfrom الدُنياthis world بِجيفَةِwith the carcass of مَيِّتٍa dead creature
ظَفَرتَ مِنَ الدُنيا بِجيفَةِ مَيِّتٍ
فَماso there is no لَكَfor you بُدٌّescape مِنfrom مُعاشَرَةِkeeping company with الكَلبِthe dog
فَما لَكَ بُدٌّ مِن مُعاشَرَةِ الكَلبِ
You have won from this world a dead creature's carcass;
You have gained from this world a dead man's carcass,
so you have no choice but to keep company with the dog.
So you have no choice but to live like a dog.
فَدَعهاso leave it فَماfor there is no فيهاin it وَماnor فيin طِلابِهاseeking it
فَدَعها فَما فيها وَما في طِلابِها
وَلاnor أَهلِهاits people خَيرٌgood لِمَنfor whoever كانَis ذاpossessed of لُبِّunderstanding
وَلا أَهلِها خَيرٌ لِمَن كانَ ذا لُبِّ
So leave it, for neither in it nor in seeking it
Leave it be, it is worthless, as are its seekers,
nor among its people is there any good for anyone with sense.
Neither it nor its people are good for the wise.
