Red, white, silvery;
and camphor-like in fragrance, with khalūq perfume as its filling.
With a camphor casing and a filling of saffron perfume.
يُطَوَّفُis circulated الدُهنُthe oil بِأَرجائِهِaround its edges
يُطَوَّفُ الدُهنُ بِأَرجائِهِ
إِطافَةَthe circling of الدَمعِtears بِجَفنِaround the eyelid of المَشوقone filled with longing
إِطافَةَ الدَمعِ بِجَفنِ المَشوق
The oil circles all around its sides,
Oil is swirled around its edges,
as tears circle the eyelid of the lovesick one.
Like tears circling the eyelid of one who longs.
كَأَنَّماas though اللَوزُthe almonds بِحافّاتِهِalong its edges
كَأَنَّما اللَوزُ بِحافّاتِهِ
أَنصافُhalves of دُرٍّpearls رُكِّبَتwere set فيin عَقيقcarnelian
أَنصافُ دُرٍّ رُكِّبَت في عَقيق
As though the almonds along its edges
