وَأُشعِلَ فيهِ الفَجرُ فَهوَ مُحَرَّقُ
Night spread over us an embroidered robe,
And night spread an ornate robe over us;
The night has spread over us a starry gown
and dawn was kindled within it, leaving it ablaze.
And dawn was kindled within it, so the robe was scorched.
And dawn has set it aflame, leaving it scorched

A morning greeted us whose radiance seemed
And morning greeted us, as though its radiance
We awoke to a dawn whose brightness
to have learned from us how to glow with splendor and shine.
Had learned from us how to be beautiful and shine.
Seemed to have learned from us how to blaze and shine
