شَوقيmy longing إِلَيكَfor you وَإِنand though نَأَيتَyou are far away شَديدُintense
شَوقي إِلَيكَ وَإِن نَأَيتَ شَديدُ
شَوقٌa longing عَلَيَّover me بِهِto it الإِلَهُGod شَهيدُa witness
شَوقٌ عَلَيَّ بِهِ الإِلَهُ شَهيدُ
My longing for you is intense, though you are far away.
My longing for you, though you are far, is strong
A longing to which God is my witness.
A longing that God knows well, and will prolong
طوبىblessedness لِمَنfor whoever أَمسىis at evening يَراكَsees you بِعَينِهِwith his own eye
طوبى لِمَن أَمسى يَراكَ بِعَينِهِ
وَتَراهُand sees him عَينُكَyour eye إِنَّهُindeed he لَسَعيدُsurely happy
وَتَراهُ عَينُكَ إِنَّهُ لَسَعيدُ
Blessed is he who sees you with his own eye at evening,
Happy is he who sees you with his eyes
And whom your eye beholds—he is happy indeed.
And you see him, for he is blessed and wise
