وَطالَ عُمرُكَ في دَهرٍ بِهِ قِصَرٌ

وَطالَ عُمرُكَ في دَهرٍ بِهِ قِصَرٌ

تُعَدُّ فيهِ شُهورُ العَيشِ أَيّاما

تُعَدُّ فيهِ شُهورُ العَيشِ أَيّاما

Long may your life be in an age in which brevity reigns;

And may your life be long in an age of brevity,

in it, the months of life are counted as days.
