جَواهِرُjewels عُشبٍgrass وَنورٍand blossoms نَظيمٍstrung together
جَواهِرُ عُشبٍ وَنورٍ نَظيمٍ
وَأَفرادُand isolated patches ظِلٍّshade وَقَطرُand raindrops نَثيرِscattered
وَأَفرادُ ظِلٍّ وَقَطرُ نَثيرِ
Jewels of grass and blossoms strung together,
Jewels of grass and orderly light,
And isolated patches of shade and scattered raindrops;
And individuals of shade and abundant dew.
فَمِنso, from بَينِamong صُفرٍyellow ones وَحُمرٍand red ones وَخُضرٍand green ones
فَمِن بَينِ صُفرٍ وَحُمرٍ وَخُضرٍ
عَلىupon القُضبِthe stems غيدٍsupple وَزورٍand bent وَصورِand leaning
عَلى القُضبِ غيدٍ وَزورٍ وَصورِ
Among them, yellow, red, and green,
So between yellow, red, and green,
Upon supple, bent, and leaning stems;
On the stalks, beauty, blossoms, and images.
وَلَعسٍand dusky ones تُناسِبُmatch لُعسَthe dark hue of الشِفاهِthe lips
وَلَعسٍ تُناسِبُ لُعسَ الشِفاهِ
وَبيضٍand white ones تُعارِضُrival بيضَthe whiteness of الثُغورِthe teeth
وَبيضٍ تُعارِضُ بيضَ الثُغورِ
And dusky ones matching the dark hue of lips,
And lips that match the lips of mouths,
And white ones rivaling the whiteness of teeth;
And whiteness that rivals the whiteness of apples.
نَواظِرُeyes مِنfrom بَينِamong يَقظىwakeful وَوَسنىand drowsy
نَواظِرُ مِن بَينِ يَقظى وَوَسنى
وَنُجلٍand wide-eyed وَخُزرٍand narrow-eyed وَحولٍand cross-eyed وَحورِand dark-eyed with bright whites
وَنُجلٍ وَخُزرٍ وَحولٍ وَحورِ
Eyes, some wakeful and some drowsy,
Glances from between wakefulness and drowsiness,
And wide, narrow, crossed, and dark against white.
And beauty, greenness, prettiness, and maidens.
