Indeed, Abu ʿAmr has a beard

مَضىhe went إِلىto السوقِthe market وَعُثنونُهُand his beard

أَقامَ في البَيتِ فَلَم يَمضِ
He went off to the market, while his great beard

وَهوَand he إِذاwhen ماemphatic particle مَرَّpasses فيin سِكَّةٍan alley
وَهوَ إِذا ما مَرَّ في سِكَّةٍ

يَملَأُها بِالطولِ وَالعَرضِ
