إِذا قُمتَ في أَمرٍ وَجَدُّكَ قاعِدٌ

فَلَستَ لَعَمرُ اللَهِ فيهِ بِقائِمِ

If you rise to undertake a matter while your fortune remains seated,

If you rise to a task while your fortune sits idle,

When you stand up for a matter and your resolve is found sitting,

then, by God’s life, you will not stand firm in it.

then, by God's life, you are not truly rising to it.

By God's life you are not in it a person who is standing.
