إِنِ اِجتَمَعَ الفَريقُ فَلا اِفتِراقٍ

إِنِ اِجتَمَعَ الفَريقُ فَلا اِفتِراقٍ

أَوِ اِفتَرَقَ الجَميعُ فَلا اِجتِماعِ

أَوِ اِفتَرَقَ الجَميعُ فَلا اِجتِماعِ

If the company gathers, then no parting;

If all unite, there will be no parting

Or if all part, then no reunion.

Or if all part, there will be no meeting

عَلى أَنَّ الجَميعَ إِلى فَناءٍ

عَلى أَنَّ الجَميعَ إِلى فَناءٍ

فَأَهوِن بِاِتِّصالٍ وَاِنقِطاعِ

فَأَهوِن بِاِتِّصالٍ وَاِنقِطاعِ

Yet all are bound to perish—

For all are bound to pass away

So how little union and separation matter!

So attachment or detachment matter not
