ضَحِكتُI laughed مِنهُمat them عَلىdespite أَنّيthat I بَكَيتُI wept لَهُمfor them
ضَحِكتُ مِنهُم عَلى أَنّي بَكَيتُ لَهُم
مِنbecause of فَرطِexcess تيهٍconceit بِهِمin them فيwith غَيرِno نُقصانِdiminution
مِن فَرطِ تيهٍ بِهِم في غَيرِ نُقصانِ
I laughed at them, though I wept for them,
I laughed at them though for them I had cried
Because of their excessive, undiminished conceit.
Out of excess love, without any loss
