خَيرُthe best of الوَرىmankind لِخِيارِto the best of الناسِpeople كُلِّهُمُall of them
خَيرُ الوَرى لِخِيارِ الناسِ كُلِّهُمُ
وَشَرُّهُمand the worst of them لِشِرارِto the worst of الناسِpeople سَوّارُSawwar
وَشَرُّهُم لِشِرارِ الناسِ سَوّارُ
He is the best of mankind to all the best of people,
The best land for the best of all people
and their worst to the worst of people—Sawwar.
And the worst for the wicked of mankind alike
مُنَبَّهُexalted الذِكرِrenown مَعلومٌwell known طَرائِقُهُhis ways
مُنَبَّهُ الذِكرِ مَعلومٌ طَرائِقُهُ
كَالشَمسِlike the sun لاnot عَلَمٌa mountain فيupon رَأسِهِits summit نارُa fire
كَالشَمسِ لا عَلَمٌ في رَأسِهِ نارُ
Of exalted renown, his ways well known,
The one with a sharp mind, his ways well known
like the sun—not a mountain with a fire upon its summit.
Like the sun, no doubt in it there is fire
