She watched for the watchman’s lapse, then came to visit
Beneath a night embroidered with daylight.

غَيرُnot مُستَطرَفٍunusual سُرىthe night travel الأَقمارِof the moons
I marveled at her night journey, and she said,
“There is nothing strange in moons traveling by night.”
ثُمَّthen مالَتshe inclined بِكَأسِهاwith her cup فَسَقَتنيand she gave me to drink

Then she tilted her cup and gave me to drink
Pomegranate-blossom-red wine upon pomegranate blossom.
