تَسقيكَshe gives you drink فيin لَيلٍa night شَبيهٍsimilar بِفَرعِهاto her tresses
تَسقيكَ في لَيلٍ شَبيهٍ بِفَرعِها
شَبيهاًsimilar بِعَينَيهاto her two eyes وَشَكلاًand a match بِخَدِّهاfor her cheek
شَبيهاً بِعَينَيها وَشَكلاً بِخَدِّها
She serves you drink in a night like her tresses,
A drink like her eyes and matching her cheek.
فَتَسكُرُso you become drunk مِنfrom عَينٍan eye وَكَأسٍand a cup وَوَجنَةٍand a cheek
فَتَسكُرُ مِن عَينٍ وَكَأسٍ وَوَجنَةٍ
تُحييكَit greets you أَعقابُin the wake of الكُؤوسِthe cups بِوَردِهاwith its roses
تُحييكَ أَعقابُ الكُؤوسِ بِوَردِها
So you grow drunk on an eye, a cup, and a cheek
That greets you, after the cups, with its roses.
