وَقَدand indeed غَدَوتُI set out early وَصُبحُwhile the dawn of اللَيلِthe night مُنتَقِصٌwaning
وَغَرَّةُand the brow of الصُبحِthe dawn مَصقولٌpolished حَواشيهاits edges
And I set out early, while the night's dawn was waning,
And the brow of dawn was polished along its edges.
وَغَرَّبَتand moved westward أَنجُمُthe stars of الظُلَماءِthe darkness وَاِنحَدَرَتand descended
فَشالَso rose أَرجُلُهاtheir feet وَاِنحَطَّand sank أَيديهاtheir hands
And the stars of darkness moved westward and descended,
So their feet rose and their hands sank.
