شَرِبناwe drank وَالنُجومُwhile the stars مُغَفَّراتٌhelmeted

We drank while the stars were helmeted,
passing like advancing armies breaking apart;
وَقَدand already أَصغَتinclined إِلىtoward الغَربِthe west الثُرَيّاthe Pleiades
دُنُوَّthe approach of الدَلوِthe bucket يَسلِمُهاlets it go الضَعيفُthe weak man
and the Pleiades had inclined toward the west,
drawing near like a bucket let go by a weak man.
