وَمَهرَجانٍand a Mihragan festival مُعجَبٍwondrous مونَقٍdelightful
كَالنورِlike blossoms غَبَّafter السَبَلِthe rain الساجِمِpouring
And a wondrous, delightful Mihragan festival,
Like blossoms after the pouring rain.
طالَعتُI beheld فيهِin it غَرَراًradiance واضِحاًclear
كَمِثلِjust like أَيّامِthe days of أَبيAbu (father of) القاسِمِal-Qasim
I beheld in it a clear radiance,
Just like the days of Abu al-Qasim.
وَالآسُand the myrtle فيin كَفّيmy palm أُحَيِّيهُمُI greet them
مِثلَlike شَوابيرَtrumpets بَنيthe sons of هاشِمِHashim
And the myrtle in my palm, as I greet them,
Is like the trumpets of Banu Hashim.
