If your appearance is out of harmony,

So too your traits are out of harmony.

You come from a motley band; when they gather,

I liken your house, with them there, to Arafah.

You were fashioned from differing drops of semen,

So your traits emerged at odds with one another.

So from this one you inherited his ugly looks,

And from that one his obscenity or arrogance.

You taunted me for going about in a tattered garment,

Yet the shell does not diminish the pearl.
