وَالثُرَيّاand the Pleiades لِمَفرِقِfor the parting of اللَيلِthe night تاجُa crown
وَالثُرَيّا لِمَفرِقِ اللَيلِ تاجُ
Rise—let us frighten cares away with a cup of wine;
Rise with us; let us frighten cares away with a cup,
the Pleiades crown the parting of night’s hair,
while the Pleiades are a crown upon the parting of night's hair,
وَقَدِand indeed اِنجَرَّتِhas been drawn out المَجَرَّةُthe Milky Way فيهِwithin it
وَقَدِ اِنجَرَّتِ المَجَرَّةُ فيهِ
كَسَبيبٍlike a strip of fine cloth يَمُدُّهُhe stretches it نَسّاجُa weaver
كَسَبيبٍ يَمُدُّهُ نَسّاجُ
and through it the Milky Way has trailed,
and the Milky Way has been drawn out across it,
like a long strand drawn out by a weaver.
