So I behold, beneath the hem of darkness,
So beneath the fringe of night I graze
the anemones of a cheek watered with wine.
On the anemones of a cheek watered with wine.

When the glances of his two eyes wheel and charge,
When the glances of his eyes charge,
you would think our hearts had been showered with arrows.
You would think our hearts were showered with arrows.

And if wine sets his body swaying,
And if wine makes his flanks sway,
he gives us a draught of sickness from his charms.
He gives us sickness to drink from his charms.
