إِنِ اِجتَمَعَ الفَريقُ فَلا اِفتِراقٍ

إِنِ اِجتَمَعَ الفَريقُ فَلا اِفتِراقٍ

أَوِ اِفتَرَقَ الجَميعُ فَلا اِجتِماعِ

أَوِ اِفتَرَقَ الجَميعُ فَلا اِجتِماعِ

If the company comes together, there can be no parting;

If the group gathers, there is no parting;

Or if everyone disperses, there can be no reunion.

or if all disperse, there is no reunion.

عَلى أَنَّ الجَميعَ إِلى فَناءٍ

عَلى أَنَّ الجَميعَ إِلى فَناءٍ

فَأَهوِن بِاِتِّصالٍ وَاِنقِطاعِ

فَأَهوِن بِاِتِّصالٍ وَاِنقِطاعِ

Yet all are destined to pass away—

Yet all are bound for extinction—

how slight, then, are union and severance!

so how trifling are union and separation!
