كَمhow much قَدindeed مَنَحتُكَI have given you حُبّاًlove
كَم قَد مَنَحتُكَ حُبّاً
وَلَيسَand there is no مِنهُfrom it جَزاءُrecompense
وَلَيسَ مِنهُ جَزاءُ
How much love I have given you,
How much love I have given you
yet no recompense comes of it!
Yet no reward from you
تَرىdo you think يَضُرُّكَit would harm you أَنthat لَوif
تَرى يَضُرُّكَ أَن لَو
يَكونَthere were مِنكَfrom you وَفاءُfaithfulness
يَكونَ مِنكَ وَفاءُ
Do you think it would harm you if
Do you think it hurts me if
you were to show faithfulness?
You would show me loyalty?
لاdo not تَبلِناafflict us بِصُدودٍwith rejection
لا تَبلِنا بِصُدودٍ
إِنَّindeed الصُدودَrejection بَلاءُan affliction
إِنَّ الصُدودَ بَلاءُ
Do not afflict us with rejection;
Do not reject us so
rejection is indeed an affliction.
For rejection is misery
بَلyet ماnot لَناfor us مِنكَfrom you بُدُّescape
بَل ما لَنا مِنكَ بُدُّ
فَاِصنَعso do بِناwith us ماwhatever تَشاءُyou wish
فَاِصنَع بِنا ما تَشاءُ
Yet we cannot do without you,
Rather we have no choice with you
so do with us whatever you wish.
So do with us as you please
