فَتَرى دِرهَماً عَلى دينارِ
It rides upon the daisies there by day,
The sparrows ride upon it in daylight,
So you see a silver dirham upon a gold dinar.
So you see a silver coin on a gold one.

Pearls of dew were strewn over it,
It has been carpeted with sheets of dew,
Clinging to the plants and trees;
Hung on the plants and trees.

Like the earrings of full-breasted virgins.
Like the skirts of young virgins.
