تَواضَعBe humble إِذاwhen مَدَّstretches out العَلاءُeminence بِضَبعِهِwith its upper arm
تَواضَع إِذا مَدَّ العَلاءُ بِضَبعِهِ
كَماjust as اِنحَطَّdescends ضَوءُthe light البَدرِof the full moon وَاِرتَفَعَand rises البَدرُthe full moon
كَما اِنحَطَّ ضَوءُ البَدرِ وَاِرتَفَعَ البَدرُ
Humble yourself when glory stretches forth both its arms,
Be humble when eminence stretches out its arm,
as the full moon’s light descends while the full moon rises.
Just as the full moon’s light descends while the full moon rises.
