خُرَّمَةٌa khurramah flower كَهامَةِlike the head of الطاوُوسَهthe peahen
دارِيَmy home مِنbecause of بَهجَتِهاits beauty مَأنوسَهcheered
A khurramah flower, like a peahen's head.
Her home is like a peacock's ruffled tail
My home is cheered by its beauty.
Abode of joy I'm fond and well acquainted
وَالعَينُand the eye فيin فَنائِهاits courtyard مَحبوسَهheld captive
مَحفوظَةٌkept safe تَحسَبُهاyou think it مَحروسَهguarded
And the eye is held captive in its courtyard.
Eyes imprisoned in its courtyard unveiled
Kept safe, you would think it guarded.
Guarded as if vigil kept and saintly

مَرفوعَةُraised الهامَةِthe head أَوor مَنكوسَهturned downward
It delights me, seen and touched,
Seen, touchable, it pleasures and regales
With its head raised or turned downward.
Crest raised or slumping, it enthralls me greatly

فيamong زَهَرٍblossoms كَالشُعَلِlike the flames المَقبوسَهkindled
A ruby, yet planted
Though a gem embedded, a ruby it excels
Among blossoms like kindled flames,
A torch-red blossom, it ignites me stately
كَحُلَلٍlike robes أَلوانُهاtheir colors مَلبوسَهworn
Like robes whose colors are worn.
Robed in rainbow hues, it casts a spell
