وَبَحرٌand a sea كَكَفِّlike the palm of الأَكرَمينَthe most generous يَحُفُّهُsurrounds it
وَبَحرٌ كَكَفِّ الأَكرَمينَ يَحُفُّهُ
صَعيدٌa plain كَأَيديlike the hands of السائِلينَbeggars مَديدُoutstretched
صَعيدٌ كَأَيدي السائِلينَ مَديدُ
And a sea, like the palm of the most generous, is surrounded
A sea like the palms of the generous surrounds it,
by a plain stretched out like the hands of beggars.
A plain like the outstretched hands of beggars extends.
