وَالرَعدُand the thunder فيin أَرجائِهِits reaches مُتَرَنِّمُsinging melodiously
وَالبَرقُand the lightning فيin حافاتِهِits edges مُتَلَهِّبُblazing
And thunder sings throughout its reaches,
And lightning blazes along its edges,
كَالبُلقِlike piebald horses تَرمَحُkick وَالصَوارِمِand the keen swords تُنتَضىare unsheathed
وَالجَوُّand the sky يَبسُمُsmiles وَالأَنامِلُand the fingers تَحسُبُcount
Like piebald horses kicking and keen swords being unsheathed.
And the sky smiles, and fingers count.
وَعَلىand upon الصَباحِthe morning غُلالَةٌa thin robe فِضِّيَّةٌsilvery
فيهاin it طِرازٌan embroidered pattern مِنof خَيالِكَyour image مُذَهَّبُgilded
And over the morning lies a silvery robe,
Within it is a gilded pattern of your image.
