وَمَنAnd whoever لَمdoes not يُوَسِّعbroaden لِلنَوائِبِfor calamities صَدرَهُhis breast
وَمَن لَم يُوَسِّع لِلنَوائِبِ صَدرَهُ
أَفادَتهُthey bring him ضيقاًconstraint فيin مَرامٍan aim وَمَذهَبِand a path
أَفادَتهُ ضيقاً في مَرامٍ وَمَذهَبِ
And whoever does not make room in his breast for calamities,
Whoever does not expand his chest to face disasters
They leave him straitened in his aims and paths.
His narrow-mindedness harms him in his life's purpose and path
وَإِنّيAnd indeed I إِذاwhen أَلقَيتُI place بَينيbetween myself وَبَينَهاand between them
وَإِنّي إِذا أَلقَيتُ بَيني وَبَينَها
أَباAbu (father of) طاهِرٍTahir لَمdo not تَدرِknow كَيفَhow تُضِرُّharm بيto me
أَبا طاهِرٍ لَم تَدرِ كَيفَ تُضِرُّ بي
And indeed, when I place between myself and them
And if I were to find between me and disasters
Abu Tahir, they know not how to harm me.
Abu Tahir, they would not know how to harm me
