The worshippers' fire has gleamed at the monastery, and already
The fire of worshippers has appeared at the monastery, when
Night has stripped its cloak from the expanse of sight.
The darkness has shed its garment from the expanse of sight.

So rise with us: let us warm ourselves by it—an aged wine,
So let us rise and free it while it is still intact,
Whose scent, inhaled, suffices instead of a cool, refreshing taste,
Its breath is enough to perfume a slender waist.

صبغُ الحياء وفرط الدلِّ والخَفَرِ
More delightful than the beloved's glance, made rosy
It has taken refuge from the glance of the beloved and returned
By modesty's blush and abundant coquetry and bashfulness.
Dyed by the color of shyness, intense love, and caution.
