مليح الدَلِّ والحدقه

بديعٌ والذي خَلَقَه

بديعٌ والذي خَلَقَه

Lovely in his coyness and eye,

Beautiful are his eyes and pupils

wondrous, by Him who created him!

Exquisite is He who created him

له صدغان من سبجٍ

له صدغان من سبجٍ

على خَدَّيه كالحلقه

على خَدَّيه كالحلقه

He has two sidelocks of jet

He has two moles of beauty

upon his cheeks, like a ring.

On his cheeks like a ring

وخالٌ فوق وجنته

وخالٌ فوق وجنته

يُقَطَّعُ قلبَ من عشقه

يُقَطَّعُ قلبَ من عشقه

And a mole upon his cheek

And a mole above his cheek

tears apart the heart of whoever loves him.

That captivates the heart of those who love him

ألاحظُهُ فأُدميه

ألاحظُهُ فأُدميه

فأترك لحظَهُ شفقه

فأترك لحظَهُ شفقه

I glance at him and make him bleed,

I look at him and tear up

so I forgo looking at him, out of pity.

So I avert my gaze shyly
