شَرُفَ الشامُ وَاِستَنارَت رباه
بِإِمامthrough the imam الأَئمةof the imams ابنِson of الفَصيحِal-Fasih (the eloquent)
بِإِمام الأَئمة ابنِ الفَصيحِ
The Levant was ennobled, and its hills grew radiant
Through the imam of imams, Ibn al-Fasih.
كُلَّevery يَومٍday لَهُhe has دُروسُlessons عُلومٍin the sciences
كُلَّ يَومٍ لَهُ دُروسُ عُلومٍ
بِلِسانٍwith a tongue عَذبٍsweet وَفِكرٍand thought صَحيحِsound
بِلِسانٍ عَذبٍ وَفِكرٍ صَحيحِ
Every day he gives lessons in the sciences
With a sweet tongue and sound thought.
