فَلَستُso I am not أُباليI care كانَwas وَصلُكunion with you أَمor هَجرُestrangement
فَلَستُ أُبالي كانَ وَصلُك أَم هَجرُ
Patience came to me in proportion to my love for you.
My patience lasts as long as my love for you
So I do not care whether it is union with you or estrangement.
So I do not care if we unite or part
وَماand not غَرَضيmy aim إِلاexcept سَلامٌa greeting وَنَظرَةٌand a glance
وَما غَرَضي إِلا سَلامٌ وَنَظرَةٌ

وَقَد حَصلا وَالذُلُّ يَأنفه الحرُّ
And all I seek is a greeting and a glance.
My only purpose is a greeting and a glance
And both have been attained; a free man disdains humiliation.
Both I have attained, though the free spurn lowliness
سَأَسلوكI shall cease loving you حَتّىuntil لاnot أَراكI see you بِناظِريwith my eye
سَأَسلوك حَتّى لا أَراك بِناظِري

I shall cease loving you until I no longer see you with my eyes.
I will avoid you, no longer see you with my eyes
And I shall forget you until my thoughts no longer pass your way.
Forget you, so thought of you does not cross my mind
